Who Can be Painted?

Face painting is not recommended for children under 2 years old.  To comply with our insurance a full face can only be offered to children aged 3 and over. I do however offer to paint a small design on the arm, hand, cheek for a younger child.

What if my child refuses?

I always have to take the wishes of the child into account.
If the child is reluctant to have their face painted then I cannot put the desire of the parent or carer above the wishes of the child.
Some children feel uncomfortable with having their face painted as they cant see what is going on.
I can offer a small arm or hand design for the child which is sometimes more enjoyable for the child as they can see what is happening, feel more in control and can look at it for the rest of the day.

What if I have a rash or other skin condition?

Anyone, who in my opinion appears to be suffering from a cold sore, conjunctivitis or any other infectious skin complaint cannot be painted. Similarly, eczema, open cuts and grazes are not suitable surfaces to paint. I reserve the right to refuse to paint anyone who is abusive, violent or intoxicated.
